7 Days to go until Ride one, the Anglesey loop and home. Only managed a small run and training for 45 minutes on the turbo trainer as was away on holiday. Had some great carb loading exercise though in Italy. Really need to spin the legs before Sundays big distance....

Ride one is penciled in to diary, going to head down to Bangor Saturday 6th June to start pedalling early as sun up on Sunday 7th. Cycling to Wrexham first to catch the Holyhead train.
Never been on a train with the bike before.
Really weird to have to plan this around an overnight stay. Literally have to think and plan for everything like a disposable toothbrush, chargers for phone and garmin and will have to sleep in the cycling gear urghh !! Apologies to my very understanding wife Debby! I might pong a bit when I see you late on Sunday night xxxx

Thank you for visiting my blog. I will be adding stories and pictures from the 4 days I plan to raise for 2 charities.
Hope House Childrens Hospice
and
Help For Heroes
My plan is to try to do 4 days of cycling totalling 1,000 km over the next 3 months ending with the Prudential Ride London 100 on 2nd August.
The 3 days (training) will be the harder and longer rides to get done though.
First I want to ride from/to Blackpool Central Pier on the west coast from/to the lighthouse at Spurn Point near Hull on the east coast in one day. The hard part might be carrying my bike 2 miles over the sand as the point had been washed away in 2013 by the storms and sometimes is not safe to cross. I might do west to east or east to west ?? Total is around 170 miles.
Training day 2 is a 170 mile circuit of the outer roads around Anglesey starting at the Menai Bridge and then through North Wales via Betws Y Coed and Llangollen back home to Ellesmere, Shropshire.
Next will be the longest day, a 190 mile ride from the southern most part of Wales at Barry Island to the northern point of Wales at Talacre, near Prestatyn.
Last is the Prudential Ride London 100 miler finishing on the Mall outside Buckingham Palace on 2nd August.
